Introducing WagePAC: A strategic advisory council shaping the future of payroll.

Payroll is one of the most important responsibilities inside any small business.

And the accountants and bookkeepers who support those businesses see firsthand what works, what doesn’t, and what needs to change.

That’s why we’re launching WagePAC — our first-ever Partner Advisory Council.

Defining what’s next for Canadian payroll.

Small business payroll is evolving. Regulations shift. Technology advances. Expectations grow.

The people closest to that change are the advisors who manage it every day.

Through WagePAC, council members will:

  • Help define the future of payroll for small businesses by guiding where Wagepoint invests next, from product innovation to the partner experience.
  • Bring real-world perspective into our decisions by sharing insights from the businesses they support every day, ensuring we solve the right problems in practical ways.
  • Build better solutions together by validating ideas, pressure-testing plans, and collaborating on what the next generation of payroll should look like.
  • Strengthen the partner community by helping grow a stronger ecosystem for accountants, bookkeepers, and the small businesses they support across Canada.

This isn’t symbolic. It’s structural. Partner insight will shape our roadmap.

Meet the inaugural WagePAC council.

Alissa Bryden

Alissa is the Owner of Virtual Heights Accounting — an accounting firm that supports small businesses with bookkeeping, tax, and advisory services. She’s passionate about helping entrepreneurs grow with confidence and brings practical, real-world insight to WagePAC.

Andrew Seguin

Andrew is the Founder of Seguin Financial, an Ontario-based bookkeeping and tax firm. He brings a financial operator mindset to WagePAC with his focus on the little details that matter and an emphasis on clean reporting that helps owners feel confident in their numbers.

Jane Jiang

With more than 20 years of experience in accounting and client services, Jane leads complex payroll processes for the Cloud Accounting team at Doane Grant Thornton. She’s passionate about elevating payroll management so clients can focus on growing their businesses with confidence.

Kathleen King

Kathleen built her career in bookkeeping and accounting and along the way noticed something important — while the numbers matter, business owners need more than spreadsheets. They need support they can trust, systems that reduce stress, and guidance that makes payroll feel simple, not overwhelming. Kathleen brings hands-on experience helping business owners streamline their financial processes to the council.

Karen Licerio

Karen is a Payroll Specialist at Think Accounting that brings expertise in Canadian multi-provincial and U.S. payroll to the council. With a background in Applied Behaviour Analysis, she’s known for her compassionate approach and commitment to accurate, timely payroll for small and mid-sized businesses.

Matt Wong

Matt is the Co-Founder of Purpose CPA. With over 20 years of experience leading finance, people, and IT teams, he combines pragmatism with a love of technology to build simple, effective solutions. Outside of work, you’ll find him running or spending time with his family in beautiful British Columbia.

Melissa Lenos

Melissa is the Founder of King Business Solutions, where her lifelong love of numbers and order has grown into a thriving practice supporting small businesses with bookkeeping and HR services. She is the chair of Certified Professional Bookkeeper (CPB) Canada’s Board of Directors, and enjoys traveling with family or golfing in Arizona when she’s not working.

Michael Shafman

Michael is the Co-CEO of faascloud inc. — a forward-thinking firm positioned at the intersection of cloud technology and business transformation. Michael helps small businesses adopt modern cloud-based finance and accounting solutions that increase their efficiency. He is known for translating big-picture technology potential into practical, revenue-driving outcomes.

Miranda Brown-Clarke

Miranda is a Client Accounting Solutions Technician at KATA Accounting Solutions. She brings hands-on payroll experience and a fresh perspective to WagePAC as a 2024 Eastern College graduate with Distinction in Accounting & Payroll Administration.

Samar Grubesic

Samar is a Senior Manager with MNP’s ease Cloud Accounting and Bookkeeping Services team, where she helps organizations navigate Canadian payroll and choose solutions that truly fit their needs. She works closely with business owners to simplify payroll operations, reduce risk, and build processes that scale as their businesses grow.

Payroll works better when we build it together.

We’ve always believed the best solutions are built with our partners — not just for them and their clients.

WagePAC formalizes that commitment. To our inaugural council members — thank you. Your voice will help shape the next chapter of Wagepoint and the broader payroll experience for small businesses across Canada.

The best payroll software in Canada won’t be built in isolation. It will be shaped by the community behind it.

And that work starts now.
